Managing corporate tax — planning, strategy, accounting, compliance and audit — is one of the most difficult challenges facing finance. Why? Because it’s a huge data challenge. Most multinationals have multiple business units and country-specific systems, in different currencies, using different accounting standards. Today, thousands of man-hours and manual processes are required to adjust the data and put it into a tax-sensitive format.
Vertex developed a breakthrough technology, called Vertex Enterprise, designed to give tax professionals control over their own data for the very first time. But they needed a way to tell a very complex story in a simple and compelling way
We teamed up with the Vertex Marketing team to do a deep dive on messaging, positioning and ways to tell the story of Vertex Enterprise, and its core technology, the Vertex Tax Performance Engine.
The resulting strategy: educate corporate finance — CFOs, VPs of Tax, Tax Managers — of the many ways Vertex Enterprise inspired the beginning of a new era where the overburdened tax department could go beyond mere reporting and compliance to make more strategic contributions to the financial success of the company.
The new campaign theme was inspired by the idea that using Vertex Enterprise gave tax command of its own data for the very first time — unifying data from multiple ERPs and transforming it to manage the end-to-end lifecycle for all tax types on a global scale. This created a fundamentally new way to improve and control all aspects of tax process management… marking the beginning of a new era where all things are Tax Possible.

The new Tax Possible campaign launched to incredible acclaim and had an immediate impact on the way the Vertex sales team told the story of Vertex Enterprise along with their ability to uncover and capitalize on new revenue opportunities.
In five weeks, engagement and conversions reached record-setting levels, and the Tax Possible theme has been extended to Vertex events, and a full portfolio campaign. We extended our reach through surround-sound out-of-home placements - featuring the new campaign creative on billboards, 30th Street Station, and in the Philadelphia International Airport. The campaign and sales materials also received a design award: the 2016 Neographics Award for Best of Category in Booklets Large Format.
