Our Interns Reflect on Their Summer of Garfield

As August turns to September, we’d like to celebrate a stellar group of interns who joined us for 2018. Each brought their passion, a willingness to learn and left us with some tremendous contributions. We pride ourselves on giving interns a true hands-on experience – a real representation of what it’s like to work in our industry. But rather than tell you that our summer interns truly enjoyed their time and cherished their experiences, we asked them to tell you themselves. Thank You all and have a fantastic year at school!

Danielle Pinto, Villanova University, PR Intern

Entering her senior year at Villanova University, Danielle is studying in Communications with a specialization in public relations. Danielle worked closely with the PR team, writing client bylines, pitching, and covering competitors.

“I was excited to go to work everyday. They really cared about my experience and gave me the opportunity to grow as a publicist.”

Walker Sullivan, University of Alabama, Business Development Intern

Entering his junior year at Alabama University (Roll Tide!) Walker is studying Public Relations with a minor in Management and Computing Technology/Applications. Walker worked with our Director of new business, thriving while practicing his communication and sales skills.

“Working for Garfield Group has been rewarding in more ways than I could have ever imagined. Here, they don’t ask us to be ‘interns’ by the standard definition of the word. There is no fetching coffee or changing ink cartridges.”

Aliyah Mallak, Temple University, Copy Intern

Entering her senior year at Temple University, Aliyah is studying Advertising with a concentration in copywriting. Aliyah was heavily-involved in creative brand expressions, wrote client web copy, social posts, and much more.

“Garfield Group really set the bar for future internships and jobs. I’ve never been in a setting where I could sit in a meeting with the Creative Director, talk about brand expression, and then go get pizza with him.”

Dylan Ball, Temple University, Design Intern

Entering his senior year at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Dylan is studying Graphic and Interactive Design. Dylan helped the creative team in many ways, including designing logos, websites, posters, animations, and much more.

“The internship program at Garfield allowed me to really grow as a designer and exposed me to the world of advertising. It was great to become part of a dedicated team working on real-world projects that I can showcase in my portfolio.”
