Garfield Group Wins W3 Award for Creativity in Web Design

We’re proud to announce that we’ve been selected as a Silver Winner for the 2014 W3 Awards for our work with Opportunity Finance Network!

Judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, the W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the web and recognizes the people behind award-winning sites, marketing programs, social content, mobile sites and apps and online video. This year, the W3 Awards received over 4,000 entries from the biggest agencies, the smallest firms and everyone in between. Naturally, we are honored to be selected.

When OFN came to us to create a brand new website, our mission was to focus on a unique user experience that shifted the focus from what they do for the CDFI industry to why they do it. Capturing the emotions of visitors and straying away from the strictly business, financial organization feel was our goal.

Right from the start, a compelling photo and bold statement are front and center, immediately describing who OFN is and what they believe in. The drop-down menu allows for easy navigation anywhere on the site—encouraging exploration and discovery. The site’s responsive design allows for an optimal user experience on any screen or any device.

Opportunity Finance Network is a national network of more than 200 Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) members across the U.S. that provides financing for low-income, low-wealth, and other disadvantaged people who do not have access to affordable, responsible financial products and services.
